Really comfortable house in fantastic location, with walks from the door giving beautiful views over the valley. A place to escape to and recharge ones more

I walk past with my dogs. But it looks lovely from the outside. So I can't really give a star rating really.

We just got home from the most wonderful week at Homildon Cottage. I'd say everyone must go, but I don't want it to be so booked up that we can't go back. The house is lovely and comfortable and much better equipped than my own. The garden is beautiful. Every morning we saw rabbits running around and then, just over the fence, little lambs. We were tremendously lucky with the weather and so managed to be out and about every day, walking through the stunning scenery, climbing hills and sand dunes, exploring ruined castles and taking a boat ride to the Farne Islands to see thousands of Puffins, Shags and many other more

Just returned from a lovely short break staying at Homildon Cottage. Such a great location, to be able to walk straight from the door, up Humbleton Hill, along St Cuthberts way as far as the Scottish border, or simply down into 'town' to shop or sample the local hostelries. It's clear that lots of thought has gone into making sure that guests lack nothing, from the well equipped kitchen to the comfortable beds, pillows and soft towels. The garden is a delight, and we certainly made the most of a sunny evening to sit and drink chilled wine and take in the lovely views. Expectations definitely more
